Yes! Please contact us if you would like to play for a specific team or the Mitchell Randoms.
Yes. At the moment only 4 of 8 teams are fully confirmed. Please get in touch to discuss.
In October 2025 we held a charity match between Edinburgh Drifters and Kinross Hockey Clubs. Some of us hadn’t played for ten years! So yes, don’t let hockey retirement stop you from playing, if you are fit to. The tournament is meant to be fun, friendly, and suitable for all ages, abilities and hamstring status.
No. But we do ask each team to commit to fundraising for Little Hearts Matter through a JustGiving page (with a no-obligation target). We’ll set the page up for your team, and all donations go directly to Little Hearts Matter (registered charity 1123290) with Gift Aid where appropriate. There will be a special prize for the team that raises the most. Plus, of course, bragging rights and plenty of kudos. See ‘Donations‘ page for details.
To raise funds for Little Hearts Matter (RCN 1123290), the only UK charity dedicated to supporting those affected by a single ventricle heart – or half a working heart. In 2015 Sarah and Andrew Mitchell’s first child, Sophie, was diagnosed with this condition. Sophie survived seven surgical procedures, but at 5.55pm on Sunday 25th October she had a fatal cardiac arrest and lost her battle. This tournament will hopefully bring Sarah and Andrew’s fundraising in memory of Sophie to a total of £60,000. Helping Little Hearts Matter to support families, in the same way they supported Andrew and Sarah in 2015, to navigate this rare and life-threatening condition..
The tournament format will be confirmed once all the teams are finalised.
